Ki- price is going up. 7 months into 2022, the 25 -year-old rapper and model cracked the SRM top 10 , peaking at No. 3 with “Big Energy,” a summer-ready flip reminiscent of Mariah Carey’s 1995 hit “Fantasy.” Ki is currently working on her album “ The Greatest “ with appearances from some of the top artists.
Growing up, Queens, a borough of New York City, was Ki's cradle.ki Earlier this year ki signed with Label Glizzygang Since then, the elevation has yet to reverse and has been on full display. Platinum-selling tracks “he said she said” and “B*tch From Da Souf” were both formulated with her seamless blend of hood and high-class flavors, which landed her a nomination for best female in hip hop.
This year is one of the biggest years for the multifaceted artist who we’ve seen walking the runway at fashion week , performed at coachella and opened one of the hottest night clubs in LA Kulture 9
We had a chance to sit and catch up with Kiyomei here's what she had to say.
P-How does it feel to have the highest-charting song of your career with “Big Energy?”
K-It doesn’t feel like I thought it would, but yea I ate that sh*t up, that took me out the hood it's only up from here.
P-What approach are you taking when crafting your album?
K-I'm just taking my time, I really just wanna make music for the bitches like me. Hoes that aint shit and like to shake ass… I'm happy people fu*k with my music though.
P-When it’s all said and done, what type of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I want my music to be like Destiny’s Child, people still listening to it 20 years later.
P- Being successful is all about balance , how are you balancing work life and real life ?
It's a work in progress, I really only balance one thing but we know that's not what you meant… but as far as work I just do what I want and the girls “gworls” love it.
P-What else is in the pipeline for the rest of this year?
K-I might become a stripper, I don't know, we love strippers. But who knows it's only up from here so expect big things from Big Ki.
